2015 Wind Gap Chenin Blanc
Two vineyards, Buddha’s Dharma planted in 1944, and Quail Hill, planted in 1981, were utilized for this 100% Chenin Blanc. Both share similar volcanic soils and sustainable farming. Some pre-fermentative skin contact gives the wine palate weight, partially blocked Malolactic-Fermentation leaves the wine crisp, while the concrete aging adds focus. Brilliant now, we anticipate this wine improving with time.
River rocks, Bosch Pear, tangerine peel, blue flowers and yellow plums fill out the nose. While the palate is loaded with yellow plum, tangerine, baked bread, granny smith apple and honeycomb. Zesty and clean, the lingering flavor of tangerine and honey make your mouth water for another sip.
