2015 North Coast Chenin Blanc
A blend of two vineyards both planted in volcanic soils this wine sums up all that is exciting and great about Chenin Blanc. The Buddhas Dharma Vineyard (which we bottle on it’s own under the PAX label) was planted in 1944 and brings the highlights to this textured wine. The Quail Hill Vineyard planted in the 1970s brings the texture and exotic lift and is the backbone of the blend. Both were fermented in Stainless Steel for precision and concrete for texture. The blend was created and aged together in very old neutral French Oak barrels to allow the wine to flesh out. Ready to drink on release, this wine will also benefit from short-term aging in your cellar.
Wooly and waxy with yellow plum and white flowers on the subdued aromas of this classic Chenin Blanc. Zesty and bright, this is loaded with minerals and focused yellow plums, bosch pears and honey crisp apples. Mineral and floral in the mouth this is very drinkable now and quite delicious.
