2014 Wind Gap Amaya Ridge Pinot Noir
The Amaya Ridge Vineyard was planted in 1991 at 1300’ above sea level to multiple selections of Pinot Noir in the southern part of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Dry-farmed in rock-filled clay loam soils, this site is more exposed than the Woodruff Vineyard and therefore shows more fruit, power and depth of flavor.
Dark and spicy fruit with bushels of black cherries and plums that are framed by clove, cinnamon, and smoke. The intense fruit and spice on both the aroma and palate carry this medium weight wine. Concentrated and pure from this exposed patch of vineyard perched high above the Soquel National Forest.
