2013 Wind Gap Woodruff Pinot Noir
The Woodruff Vineyard remains one of the most exciting vineyards from which we are lucky to get fruit. Planted in the early 1980’s, these dry farmed terraced sandy soils produce a wine that is crystalline and pure. Stem inclusion during fermentation provides the structure and keeps this wine grounded while the warm and dry 2013 growing season made sure this wine had the density and fruit to keep it all together.
Much more mysterious and woodsy than the Amaya, this Woodruff Vineyard Pinot Noir has all of those dark, exotic foresty and pure crystalline fruit flavors as historic releases, with more length and texture and a firm classic structure that makes this wine so delicious.
