2013 Wind Gap Amaya Ridge Pinot Noir
Our first of we hope will be many delicious wines from this site. This tiny vineyard borders the Soquel State Forest, is completely surrounded by forest and is the lone vineyard for many miles. This dramatic, steep, rocky site produces a wine that carries more fruit than the Woodruff Vineyard with more color, texture, depth and density.
This is a really gorgeous Pinot Noir, very dark saturated aromas and flavors; this wine is densely fruity and darkly spiced. The palate is smooth and creamy with a firm buttress and spice from the stems, but the stems are buried in the dense fruit and the wine comes across as very concentrated and sexy…
